Forest Carbon Hike on Cougar Mtn. with Kathleen Farley-Wolf

  • Harvey Manning Park at Talus 919 Bear Ridge Court Northwest Issaquah, WA, 98027 (map)

The King County Forest Carbon Program guides the acquisition and protection of high priority forests in the county, allowing them to continue providing climate benefits by sequestering and storing carbon, while also providing benefits for water quality and quantity, fish and wildlife habitat, human health, and recreation opportunities.  This hike visits one recent land acquisition on Cougar Mtn. that had been slated for a housing development  Our hike leader, Kathleen Farley Wolf of King County, will introduce us to this forest and explain how the forest carbon credits program helps reduce the emissions of greenhouse gasses.

This will be an interactive hike with stops for observation, discussion and Q&A.
