Letter from the President: IATC's 45th Anniversary

As we celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Issaquah Alps Trails Club, I find myself reflecting on the countless hikes, quiet moments in nature, and vibrant community gatherings that have shaped our work over the years. It’s not just about maintaining trails or conserving land—it’s about the deep connection we all share with these mountains, forests, and open spaces. I know that you, too, have felt the magic of the Issaquah Alps—whether it's watching paragliders soar into the sunset, marveling at wildflowers and ferns bursting into bloom, or wandering through the forest as morning mist weaves between the trees
We’re launching our 45th Anniversary Annual Campaign with an exciting opportunity: our Board of Directors has pledged to match every donation, dollar for dollar, up to $45,000 through the end of the year. This means your contribution will have twice the impact in conserving and restoring land, hosting community events, and ensuring future generations can continue to enjoy the “wilderness within.”
For me, the Issaquah Alps are a source of peace, adventure, and inspiration. They’ve given so much to us, and now we have the chance to give back—to conserve and enhance them for future generations. Your donation will help expand habitat restoration, advocate for new conservation areas, and ensure that we can continue our education and outreach efforts.

I also want to remind you that many companies offer corporate donation matching programs, which means that your gift could be quadrupled! Many companies will match charitable donations made by their employees, which is an incredible way to amplify your impact. Simply check with your employer to see if they participate in donation matching.
